In 1988 and 1990 the CVB initiated a series of short theme films: Bruxelles sauve qui peut la ville (1988) and Bruxelles, sauve qui peut la nuit (1990).
In the same spirit, the two subsequent series were the subject of a competition open to schools of cinema and more widely schools of communication, where entrants were asked to create a documentary screenplay: Utopie(s) en marche (1997) and Espace de solidarité (2001).
In 2005, on the lookout for new forms of screenwriting, the Atelier Jeunes Cinéastes (AJC!) and the CVB together launched a competition challenging writers to approach the world today through projects freely combining poetic, documentary and experimental forms, but always derived from reality.
This resulted in the 2005 L’argent series and the Mensonge et secrets series in 2007.
Photo > Doc 09, the source for the most recent series (2009) was a photograph by Sylvia de la Mauvinière.
